2019 onwards

How I got here

1. 2019 to 2020Digital Thali, Mumbai. 3D, video, graphics and UX at once.Four disciplines told me which one I actually liked.
2. 2020 to 2022Toronto. Two postgraduates at Seneca, 3D animation then event design.Learned to build worlds, then learned to lay out rooms.
3. 2022 to 2024Contract visual, brand and 3D work for game and entertainment clients.Stopped wanting it to look right. Started wanting to know if it worked.
4. 2024 to nowFreelance, then CodSphere as sole designer. Then HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSX.Now I write the components instead of describing them and hoping.

Every day

How I work with a team

Owning design on my own has meant learning to bring the questions as well as the answers. I turn up with the research, the reasoning, and usually a version I already think is wrong, so there's something to argue with rather than just approve

With developers

I write JSX now, so handoff is a conversation instead of a file thrown over a wall. If something cannot be built the way I drew it, I would rather find out in the same meeting than three sprints later.

With founders and stakeholders

I show the trade-off, not just the recommendation. Every decision costs something and it goes better when everyone knows what.

When timelines are tight

I ship the smallest honest version and say out loud what got cut.

Weekends, mostly

Off the clock

• Pen before pixel, always. If an idea can't survive a bad sketch it isn't ready.
• I photograph almost anything. A shadow on a wall, a good sunset, someone else's dog.
• Travelling alone since 2022. Four years and counting.
• Floral and event work taught me more about hierarchy than any type scale has.

Today

I'm designing at a B2B SaaS company right now, owning the work from research through to the front end. I'm looking for my next product design role in Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, or remote, and I'd be glad to hear what you're building.
